Okay, snuggle in — tonight's story is about two best friends who are not from our world at all. But they love our world so much that they protect it every single day. Their names are Dogsy and Napu.
Dogsy looks like a boy, but he is really an alien "Dogman" from a faraway planet. He has a super cool power — he can talk to every single animal on Earth. Birds, dogs, cats, elephants, ants — everyone!
Napu is Dogsy's best friend. He is a Snake Man. He can talk to every snake, and — this is the fun part — he can also talk to every creature that lives in water. Fish, turtles, crabs, frogs, even the tiny tadpoles in a puddle. If it swims, Napu can talk to it.
Now, here's how it all began.
One quiet night in Delhi, while the whole city was fast asleep, the clouds suddenly split open. A giant glowing UFO came zooming down from the sky, spinning like a top because its engine had gone wonky. BOOM! It crashed into an empty field.
The crash was so hard that a door on the spaceship popped open, and out tumbled — guess who — Dogsy and Napu! They landed with a thud in a bush. Before they could climb back in, the door slammed shut. Their whole crew was still stuck inside.
Within minutes — nee-naw, nee-naw — army trucks came rushing in. Soldiers switched on giant searchlights and surrounded the ship. They wanted to catch the aliens!
Dogsy peeked through the leaves, his heart thumping. "Napu," he whispered, "if the soldiers see our faces, they will lock us all in a lab!"
"Not on my watch," Napu whispered back. He spotted two masks the soldiers had dropped and grabbed them. "Quick, wear this!"
They slipped the masks on to hide their alien faces. Very sneaky, right?
Then Dogsy shut his eyes and called out — not with his mouth, but with his mind — to every bird in Delhi. Sparrows, pigeons, crows, eagles, all of them.
Within minutes, the sky roared with wings. Thousands of birds swooped down and swirled around the soldiers like a giant feathery tornado, flapping and cawing so loudly that the soldiers covered their ears and ran in circles, completely confused. (One soldier even ran straight into a bush. Oops.)
While the birds made all that noisy mess, Napu didn't just sit around — he crouched by a little puddle nearby and gave a soft, bubbly call. Up popped a family of frogs and a very surprised turtle.
"Any of you seen a safe way to the ship without the soldiers spotting us?" Napu asked.
The old turtle blinked slowly and pointed with his flipper. "Through the ditch, past the mud, quick quick before the lights swing back!"
Using the turtle's shortcut, Dogsy and Napu dashed to the ship. Giant eagles swooped down with thick ropes in their claws. Napu tied the ropes tight and fast — knot, knot, done!
"NOW!" Dogsy shouted to the eagles.
Wings spread. Ropes pulled tight. Slowly, slowly, the huge ship lifted off the ground and rose into the sky, hidden by the swirling birds.
Once it was safely high up, the engines sparked back to life. But if the crew came back down for Dogsy and Napu, they would be caught too. So, with heavy hearts, they flew off into space, leaving their two friends behind — to keep everyone safe.
Dogsy stood on the ground, tears in his eyes, watching the ship vanish into the stars. He was alone on a strange new planet.
Napu put a hand on his shoulder. "Why didn't you go with them, Napu? You could have climbed the ropes," Dogsy asked softly.
Napu grinned under his mask. "And leave my best friend all alone on a new planet? No way. We'll make Earth our home now. And we'll protect the kids here — together."
Dogsy laughed through his tears and hugged Napu tight. And that, my dear, is how Earth got its two newest, silliest, bravest superheroes.
